Macular Degeneration
Age-Related Macular Degeneration (AMD) is the leading cause of severe vision loss in adults over age 50. It results from changes to the macula, the part of the retina which is responsible for clear, sharp vision. Without a healthy macula, seeing detail or colour is not possible. In the dry type, deposits form in the tissue of the macula, preventing optimal function. Eye exams
